Rupert is beautiful pony with the good conformation and lovely paces, typical of a Dorlyn bred pony He absolutely loves to hack, and is a pleasure to take out alone or in company, on roads or in open spaces.
Has been to the beach, on sponsored rides, hunt rides etc and is always impeccably behaved the kind of pony you can send a child out hacking on and expect them to come back safe and sound with big smiles on their faces!
A rosette machine in the show ring, from local shows to affiliated, rarely coming home without a first rosette. He carries himself in a beautiful outline whether in a snaffle or a double bridle and has lovely manners in the ring.
We have done a lot of dressage since having him, with plenty of input from a BD accredited coach. Rupert has been on the pony club area dressage team for the last two years and would make a brilliant BYRDS pony.
Rupert also has a less serious side and can switch between perfect showman to superstar mounted games pony and back easily. He has many wins at mounted games, he is incredibly responsive to ride and very willing to please! We have also tried our hand at horse ball which he LOVED, and has played for Derbyshire on several occasions
He is a dream to handle in all ways, will stand all day to be fussed over. Good to catch, clip, box, shoe. Well behaved for vet, dentist and farrier. Easy to keep, can live in or out and doesnt need loads of supplements to keep him looking good!
Never sick or sorry The only downside to Rupert is that he really does not like to jump any more than a cross pole, we want to be completely honest about Rupert as he has been a very special pony for us, so would like him to find him a lovely family home where jumping will not be an issue.
